Marc Anthony - Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Collection

I get to try out a lot of new and different makeup products w/ my job but unfortunately I don't get sent hair products near as much so when the ppl at Marc Anthony offered to send me products from their new Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Collection I was super excited!  And let me tell you EVEN MORE EXCITED once I got the package - boy do they know how to treat a girl right!  I got the WHOLE collection and all FULL SIZE products!  None of those tiny sample size things!

Now I'm not going to lie in the past I've personally avoided a lot of Argan Oil products b/c I have straight and to be perfectly honest limp hair and I thought it would just weigh it down but I thought why not give this stuff a try!

I've personally been using the Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner for probably a mth now and I actually really like them!  I know this might sound crazy but literally days after I started using them I had several ppl comment on how shiny my hair was...it can't all be a coincidence!  Plus I really like that they are Sulfate Free and are infused w/ Keratin, Grape Seed Oil and Argan Oil.  They help control frizz (which really isn't an issue for me) and they preserve colour (which is important for me).  Plus they are a great price point at $9.99 a bottle and the whole line is available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, Walmart etc.

I've also been using the Argan Oil Treatment  mostly just on the ends of my hair where it can tend to get more dry and damaged (my hair is very long after all).  It definitely makes my hair glossier and and softer and it's good for all hair types - curly, straight, thick or thin!

In my hair kit on set and for weddings I've been using both the Oil of Morocco Volumizing Mousse and Oil of Morocco Volumizing Hairspray.  Both are like the shampoo/conditioner are Sulfate free and infused w/ Keratin and they also shield against humidity and frizz.  Like the other products they can be used on both straight and curly hair.  Both the hairspray and mousse have a medium workable hold to them which is good b/c no one likes crunchy stiff hair but be aware if you might want something stronger or a firmer hold for a final firm hold setting spray for things like bridal updos and such!

Rapid Lash Review For Eyebrows!

You've heard me lament before about the unfortunate situation w/ my eyebrows.  When I was young I had full, bushy, unibrow eyebrows and then in my teenage years I started getting them waxed and the waxers that I went to obviously weren't that good (how was I to know I was 16) and they started waxing my brows further and further apart till at one point they were ridiculous little sad faces above my eyes (these were the uni years).  It wasn't until I got to makeup school that I learned how to shape and grow them in properly (or at least attempt to grow them in...still had/have to fill in the holes).  Before makeup school it wasn't that I didn't know my eyebrows were jacked I just didn't really know how to fix them.  Now I actually get complimented on them (when they are filled in) on a semi regular basis.

Anyway, obviously full brows are back and have been back for a VERY long time now so I have LONGED for the time when maybe my unholy holy brows would fill in. Unfortunately, my prayers had gone unanswered...that is until I started using Rapid Lash on my Brows.

I've heard about Rapid Lash for awhile now and I knew it worked on people's eyelashes but I wasn't too certain about brows (even though the box says it works on brows).  Plus the $60 price tag was kind of keeping me away (although it is one of the cheaper lash enhancing products out there) but you may remember about a mth ago I redeemed a bunch of Shoppers Optimum Points for over $200 in free stuff...well I took this as the perfect time to try this product b/c well I was getting it for free so what did I have to lose!

I've been using the product for about a mth now and it's really a very easy product to apply.  You apply it every night to your brows and where you want them to grow in.  It's a very fine little brush like a eyeliner brush for liquid liner.  I've been applying it religiously every night and I'll be honest I'm REALLY starting to notice a DIFFERENCE!  There are all sorts of little hairs just starting to pop up where there were none before.  I'm very curious about the results in 2 mths...I do still have some holes near the beginning of my brows but overall I am noticing that they are starting to definitely look fuller!

I have a Before Shot of my Brows & some After Shots so you can see the difference but I'll be honest the Before Shot is a bit blurry b/c I wasn't taken a close up of my brows so when I cropped in it went a bit blurry unfortunately (it's from my Cover FX review...only time I've ever taken a pic w/out my brows filled in).  Sorry I didn't think to take a close up right when I started I didn't really realize that the Cover FX ones would be so blurry when I cropped them but I think you can still see a difference and you can definitely see all the little hairs that are starting to pop up on the After Shots, can't wait to see those little hairs fill in over the next mth!  I should also note I HAVE NOT been using it on my eyelashes...the After Pic my eyelashes are a million times longer b/c I'm wearing mascara (L'Oreal Voluminious - My Fav for a LONG time now) and my lashes are curled that's it...thank God for eyelash curlers and mascara!

Before Rapid Lash

After Rapid Lash 1 Mth (if you click on the images you'll see them a lot bigger and in a lot more detail and see all the tiny hairs starting to sprout up!)

I'll post some more pics in a mth...I'm really curious to see the improvement after 2 mths since it says it takes minimum a mth for you to notice anything!  If it keeps working this well and my brows get fuller I'll definitely be buying it again!

You can visit the website to read all about the ingredients and benefits as well as a bunch of FAQs.

I'm An Addict & Shoppers Drug Mart Is My Dealer!

Anyone who knows me knows that it's near impossible for me to walk into Shoppers Drug Mart w/out dropping minimum $50.  Seriously, every time I go in even if it's for something simple like toothpaste the lure of their great sales and Optimum points get me.  I'm an Optimum Point fiend (for those that don't know you can save these pts and redeem them for free merchandise)...and let's not even get me started on the 20X the Optimum Points days lol!

So yesterday I innocently stop into Shoppers to pick up a package at the post office section (my Model 21 Eyelash order came in :) ).  I walked into the doors of my neighbourhood Shoppers at Yonge & College which I might add is also a Beauty Boutique (meaning that it carries a wider array of high end beauty products - Benefit, Smashbox, Guerlain, Lancome...to name a few).  Right there in the front were these bins marked $1.99 or $4.99 and they were FILLED w/ AMAZING hair products!  I don't mean the crappy kind either - I'm talking Marc Anthony, John Freida, L'oreal Elnett...some reallly good stuff!

Of course like the addict I am I grabbed a basket and just started loading it up w/ Elnett Hairspray ($4.99 reg. $14.99) and other various hair products for ridiculous prices.  Seriously, ppl were staring b/c I was just grabbing away afraid that others would get to something before I had a chance.  And of course like any addict I can always justify such purchases, "It's for my kit, I'm a Makeup & Hair artist" I say to the strangers staring at my almost overflowing basket.

After I loaded up my basket, picked up my eyelashes and roamed the store I went to the cash where the manager asked me how many Optimum pts I had.  I knew they had a special program going on this weekend where if you used 80 000 pts you got to spend $200 on almost anything in the store (you just have to pay the tax).  Normally, 80 000 pts gets you about $136 or something so it was like an extra $64 free!  I knew the sale items at the ridiculous prices wouldn't be around on Sat. for the promotion so I just figured I'd buy them that day and come back Sat. to get my $200 free merchandise of my choice (btw it's actually not THAT hard to get that many pts esp. if you shop on the 20X the pts days).  Then the manager informs me b/c that particular Shoppers is such a high volume Shoppers they are actually starting the promotion a day earlier on the Fri.!  That means not only do I get these AMAZING hair products for at an AMAZING DEAL...I actually get them for FREE!

Well once I found that out they agreed to hold my transaction and items aside while I continued to roam the store.  I literally spent another hr trying to figure out how to spend another $135.  I'm very indecisive and whenever these redeem your pts days come up I only like to spend the pts on things I would never normally purchase or things I hate to spend the money on in the first place (which usually means things for me b/c it's harder for my guilty self to justify it when it's for me and not my kit lol).

After much deliberation and walking around I finally settled on a new Hoola Bronzer by Benefit b/c mine is almost done and it's my Fav. contouring product, Boots Protect & Perfect Serum b/c I like it and haven't bought it for myself in awhile, some hair colour cuz man my roots are getting bad lol and my BIG purchase that I have been WAITING to get but didn't actually want to spend the money on RAPID LASH - it's like $60!  Not b/c my lashes are short or anything - in fact I have great very full and long lashes but for my BROWS!  Which of course if you read my last post you know are lacking and it's a very sensitive issue w/ me.  I've heard great things about this product so I'm really curious to see if it works and helps fill in some of the holes and gaps in my brows!

My order ended up coming to $200.50 how amazing is that!  I planned that too perfection so w/ tax I paid just over $26...can you believe it.  The receipt also says how much you saved and on all the hair products I saved just over $192!!! So that' means I basically got $400 worth of Makeup & Hair products for $26 Yesterday!  Sign me up for Extreme Couponing b/c I think we have a new WINNER lol!

Here's my amazing purchases in all their glory!

Here's Everything!
Elnett $4.99/bottle you better believe I stocked up!  Esp. the way I got through hairspray lol!
All of these hair products were $1.99/Each - Insanity!
My Splurge on Myself Purchases - Funny the Rapid Lash at $60.00 was only a few dollars cheaper than ALL of the Hair Products together lol!
