InBeauty for the Digital Age

As you all know I'm a very loyal fan and follower of the twice annual InBeauty Magazine.  I've blogged about it several times and I must admit since my initial purchase it has become a lot easier to find...no longer do I personally have to contact the Toronto distributor and have them send a personal copy to a magazine store for me to purchase (yes I did that SEVERAL times lol).

Anyway, guess who got word from Taiwan (where the magazine comes from) that InBeauty has come out w/ a digital copy app for you iPad!  How cool is that.  Now you can have it w/ you anywhere you take the old iPad.  I unfortunately, do not have an iPad yet...but still a very cool development and it makes it a lot easier for those in small towns to obtain.

I guess the editors saw that I've blogged about the mag several times so they wanted to me to pass the word out lol!  Right now it's only the S/S12 issue available but in a couple of wks (mid June) the A/W12-13 issue will be available online and in stores!

Btw InStyle also has a Facebook Page if you want to follow that...also gives updates about InBeauty Magazine!  They've already shown a teaser for the new edition and it's already making me drool!

Guess What Time Of Year It Is - IN BEAUTY MAGAZINE TIME :)

Hope you all had a lovely holiday season whatever it is you celebrate or don't celebrate this time of year.  I just got back from my annual trek down to Windsor, ON for a little Christmas Family Time, which is always nice...in small doses lol. 

Didn't really get that many beauty products to tell you about...oh wait that's a lie.  I got a Nulawaver and a Caruso Ion Steam Roller Set...kind of forgot about them b/c they were gifts but I actually ordered them myself b/c well it's just easier that way sometimes lol.  I'll be doing reviews on each of the products after I use them a couple of more times :)

Anyway, it's also that special time of year where my FAVOURITE magazine comes out - IN BEAUTY Magazine.  It's always like a little mystery when I'm going to stumble upon the little treasure or get an email updating me about it's arrival.  I know it comes out twice a yr and usually in Dec. and June but I'm never quite sure of it's exact arrival.  If you haven't read my previous posts about this magazine...do b/c it seriously is the best magazine for Hair & Makeup trends out there!

The Toronto distributor Frank (who I have mentioned before) was actually nice enough to send me an email updating me on the fact that it was coming to stores but it actually arrived about a wk after he told me.  Which meant for a solid wk I was walking into my local International Presse starting at their wall and walking out.  Finally, on Dec 24th I got a call from the store notifying me of the magazines arrival...which was kind of weird b/c I must have told them a long time ago to call me whenever the magazine came in b/c I haven't given them my number recently lol.  I told them I'd be back on the 28th and made them promise to save me a copy.  Upon my arrival back into Toronto one of my first stops after dropping off my luggage was to go get my magazine...my second stop was to the gym but that's a whole other story lol. 

So I now have in my possession my FAVOURITE magazine EVER for Makeup & Hair inspirations!  I'm sure I will spend countless hours staring at the pictures and fantasizing about all the shoots there is NEVER enough time to complete...but hopefully a few will happen. 

If you're in Toronto apparently it's also available at Complections Makeup School in their store so that's a good place to check out if you too are obsessed w/ the magazine like me and can't wait to get your hands on a copy!

So hope you're all having a lovely holiday season and an even better New Year!  I'll make sure to post all my New Years Resolutions in the next couple of days...I have to admit they are somewhat similar to last year but you know what after looking over last years I did a pretty good job of accomplishing them!

Guess What I Bought Yesterday!!!

It's that time of year again! That's right IN Beauty - my FAVOURITE magazine for keeping me up to date on all the latest and future hair and makeup trends has just hit stores! For those out of the loop it's basically a magazine that shows in details ALL of the major Hair & Makeup looks for ALL of the major Fashion Shows for Fall/Winter 10. I found it yesterday and apparently it was the FIRST day it was released lol. I got an email earlier in the week from Frank the guy I've been in contact w/ to get the mag consistently over the past yr or so telling me it was coming out this week.

And guess what Torontonians...it's easier to find now. Complections Makeup School is now carrying it! The back of this issue also gives a full listing of International Distributors.

In Beauty Update

Some ppl are curious where I got the magazine in Toronto. The location I got it at was an International Press Mag Shop one Block East of Bathurst on Bloor. I'm pretty sure it will be sold out there now though b/c they only had 2 copies and I've mentioned it to a few ppl. The distributor in Toronto is a guy named Frank. Super nice and his email is: fursino@speedimpex.ca . Outside Toronto it gets a bit harder but you can email the actual magazine and they can help you find a distributor near you. In Beauty Magazine

I FINALLY got my copy of In Beauty Spring/Summer 10 Magazine. For those of you that don't know In Beauty is LITERALLY my makeup and hair beauty bible for the fashion seasons. Stumbling upon the premiere issue last yr was literally one of the best things to happen to me as far as research and expanding my ideas for makeup/hair trends.

Basically, it's a magazine that gives detailed explanations and close up pictures of all the important runway shows in Milan, Paris, London and New York. It's so great to have these pictures as references b/c a lot of times when you look at the runway pics after the shows you can't see the makeup and hair up close enough to see all the details and nuances b/c let's be real the main focus of these shows are the clothes lol.

The magazine is a bit pricey at $45 CAN but for me it is worth every penny and MORE! Seriously, it's a magazine of pure gold...every page is just more and more inspiration. I'm so glad I came across it by pure luck that first time and actually bought it.

It's always a guessing game when trying to figure out when this magazine will come out b/c it only comes out twice a year a few mths after the runway shows and it's VERY hard to find in stores b/c 1. Not many stores carry the magazine 2. The stores that do only carry like 1 or 2 copies 3. It's becoming a big magazine for makeup artists to buy

Thankfully, I'm persistent and even when I was working in China I had good friends go find a copy for me. The magazine is actually made in Taiwan so I had to contact them and they told me when it was coming out and put me in touch w/ the very friendly and patient distributor in Toronto who even had a copy sent to a store personally for me b/c there were no more it stores at the time.

So if you do happen to stumble upon this little gem I say BUY IT! BUY IT NOW!!
